Dr. Young is a lifelong native of Pittsburgh, growing up in Hampton. He is a third generation dentist, following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. William Young, mother, Dr. Christine Rylands Young, and grandfather, Dr. Robert Rylands. He has a younger sister, Dr. Haley Brose, who practices dentistry in the McCandless area.
Dr. Young is a graduate of the University of Dayton and University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He additionally completed his residency training at the Pittsburgh VA Hospital in Aspinwall, working with our country’s veterans. Here he furthered his skills in all facets of dentistry, with a focus on restorative, prosthetic, and implant dentistry.
In the early years of his career in private practice, Dr. Young worked at an office with an in-house lab. This helped cultivate his love for cosmetic dentistry and allow him to build relationships with private lab technicians whom he continues working with today.
Dr. Young also dedicates his time as an instructor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Here he works hands-on with students, teaching the fundamentals of fixed prosthodontics (crowns, bridges, veneers, and implant restorations) and lecturing on Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Young is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Young resides in the Shadyside area where he enjoys all things Pittsburgh, including sporting events, concerts, and local restaurants. In his free time, he loves golfing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
